Social Media

Collegiate Club Pickleball

As the elected Social Media Chair for Miami University’s Club Pickleball team, I led a strategic refresh of the club’s Instagram. The team continues to grow in both popularity and competitive skill, while traveling and competing against other universities. So, its identity needed to reflect that momentum while preserving the relaxed, social culture that attracts new members. My social media strategy centered on authenticity and energy, building excitement for current players and drawing in future members.

Execution

I led the creation of a cohesive Instagram system built around energetic photography, dynamic typography, and clean yet laid-back design. Photography was used intentionally to showcase a broader range of members and experiences, reinforcing the club’s welcoming culture. I designed a suite of shareable graphics that included tournament information, livestream details, and event highlights to keep both members and followers informed.

Content was organized into distinct post types: practice reminders, schedules, “hype graphics”, tournament recaps, and recruitment posts. I designed each with its own visual treatment while maintaining a consistent overall look and feel. For example, practice reminders featured a custom font inspired by the chalk lines used to mark our courts, creating a subtle but meaningful visual cue. This system allowed for clarity, variety, and recognizability across the feed.

By establishing clear visual guidelines, I learned how to create repeatable, effective content. The outcome reflects a more confident approach to system-based design.
